Brand Ethos Will Do It for David This Christmas
The Legacy of David Wylie
There are certain people you meet in this world that are hard to forget. David Wylie was one such person. David was deeply committed to giving back to those who needed it most because of his experiences and the obstacles he had to overcome from a very young age. He grew up in the foster care system, so he knew what it was like to have to rely on yourself and have very little. Although he didn’t have a ton of money, he was an example that if we each do a little, together we can do a lot.
Focusing on Community Relations
As an adult, David worked for a large call center in the Fort Lauderdale area, and eventually became the Communications Manager at PRC. While many would have overlooked him for advancement, his superiors saw that he was extremely passionate about working in communications and improving internal communications, work culture, and community relations with the company. His enthusiasm and outlook on life trickled into everything he did.
David had a love and desire to give back. But, it was his incredible capacity for rallying people that could invigorate community involvement and take it to a whole new level. One Christmas, he even arranged a private jet to shuttle him to the toy drive when he dressed up as Santa. By inviting the local media to share their story, he brought much-needed support to local youth charities.
However, one of the causes closest to his heart was the Flite Center. This organization focuses on helping kids who have aged out of the foster care system. They offer job training, assistance in teaching them basic life skills, and daily necessities to survive. He wanted to help young adults understand that you do not need to be a product of your environment and give them the tools they needed to succeed.
Brand Ethos is Doing It for David
Even though David is no longer with us, his spirit is still with those whose lives he touched. Since the holidays were always a special time for him, his friends at Brand Ethos have decided to carry on his legacy this year.
While monetary donations are always deeply appreciated, Brand Ethos has decided to do something that would surely bring a smile to David’s face. We are compiling gift bags and stockings packed with goodies like gift cards, toiletries, and warm clothing. The whole family is getting involved by spearheading drives at their schools and collecting Christmas cards with words of encouragement and holiday cheer.
Last year, we gave out more than 200 gift bags, but we hope to make it even bigger this holiday season. We are inviting anyone who wants to contribute to purchase items in bulk or send handmade cards to be included in the gift bags. If you are interested, you can visit our website www.yourbrandethos.com or contact Alicia Laszewski at alicia@yourbrandethos.com. All his friends have learned that you don’t need deep pockets to make an impact. This year, we can help his spirit live on and do it for David!
